Not sure if I should tip.?
Next month I'm getting married. The dj, photographer, and bagpipe player all work for themselves. They are not contracted out by a bigger business. Since that is the case and they get 100% of the fee, should you still tip for services. I'm really not sure.
The people I hired (photographer, DJ & Bagpipe player) all worked for themselves as well. I was on a tight budget, so I did not tip. Plus, I had to feed them as well...keep that in mind when you look over their contracts. Most expect to get some dinner too. The hotel where I had my reception had a special "service person" per head charge. Basically, they charge you a little less per head for your service people which can include DJ's/bands, photographers, videographers, the officiant, etc.
If you have a little extra money and say you are really impressed with your DJ's work, or whatever, you could always tip them then.
