What does it mean to stab your hat back in the civil war days?
I recently did a genealogy check on my last name, turns out i got ancestors in the American Revolution and American Civil War. I talked to my grandma (papa's side) and she said her great great grandpa was in the Confederacy. Showed me some pictures, and damn sure enough there he was. He was with a group of about 50 men, and they all had they're hats on their bayonets, lifted high. What does this mean?
I once heard that officers and nco's would place their hats on their swords to show their troops which way to go. That was when officers lead in the front. Now these were mainly company level officers and nco's.

Movies replicating brutalities Japan did in WWII?
I heard many things about the Japanese in WWII. I'd like to see a movie depiction of the following:
1. Bayonets in pregnant women
2. Tossing babies and stabbing them with bayonets
And no I am not crazy I am just curious.
