What is the best way to store firearms for long periods?
Hi i have about 10 long guns, shot guns, and hand guns, they all have wood and plastic stocks or grips. Im going for a trip overseas and i dont want to come home to rusted barrels and non working actions. So what would be the best what to store them.
Should I?
brake the actions down
remove the stocks
is it safe to store them in a wood box in the basement

Depends how much work you want to put into it. I suspect a light coating of oil on the outside, the working parts, and down the bore, then storing them in a dry, dustless, closet above ground will do you just fine.
But if you wanted to get crazy, you could break them all down completely, coat them excessively with weapons grease, and wrap them all in oil-saturated towels... That should preserve them for the next 300 years or so lol.
Chances are, if you have 10 guns and they're not rusted, you already know how to take care of them.
