Are you allowed to take your work permit back after being hired but not starting the job yet?
I recently got hired at a stop n' shop and I filled out my work permit and turned it in. I called over and over again, but they never gave me my hours. Am I allowed to take my work permit back and find a jobs somewhere else? Or do I have to make a new one?
You need to call Stop and Shop and talk to them. Let them know that you are still seeking work because you ahve not been scheduled, would like to work there, but can no longer wait as you need to work. Ask for your original work permit back if they are not going to schedule you. And thank them for their time. Don't burn bridges.
When you say make a new work permit, I'd talk to the government agency that issues the permit and find out what you need to do given your situation. Assuming you are under the age of consent in your state, every state has their own laws regarding minors working so they would be the people to help you out.
