Company Confederates

Why are Americans so complacent about oil prices??
I don't really see big protests or a mass of people really ready to do something about this.Does anyone not remember history so we are not condemned to repeat it. I grew up with people we survived the Great Depression and unless we really
change something here we could easily see what they lived thru. Someone told me putting SUNOCO stickers on your car are a fashion statement-are they NUTS???To me it feels like they have a
confederate flag and a Nazi swazstika(symbol). You can NOT make excuses for these companies and keep supporting the slow demise of our economy. We need a great invention on a mass scale and we need it fast-but i really believe if more people would take an interest And maybe(get mad) write /speak STRONGLY to government officials start
bigger rallys organize. Of course during the great depression we didnt have the large elderly population we have now-maybe we could just eat them first-because only the strong survive...........
I say we start a protest vote and vote everyone in the House and senate out this election and start with a fresh, new group who will do everything they can to make the USA energy suffiient here at home and lower the gasoline prices!

Determine the # to produce to maximize weekly profits.?
A company carves wooden soldiers (union and confederate).
The requirements for a union soldier are 3 units of lumber, 3.5 hours of carpentry, and 3 hours of finishing. The union soldiers brings in a profit of $28.
A confederate soldier requires 2 units of lumber, 4 hours of carpentry, and 2 hours of finishing. The profit for a confederate soldier is $30.
Each week 100 units of lumber are delivered.
There are 120 hours of carpentry machine time available.
There are 90 hours of finishing time available.
Determine the # of each wooden soldier to produce to maximize weekly profits.
.
This is a typical problem in linear programming and I will give you the objective function.
Maximize P = 28X + 3Y
subject to
3X + 2Y <- 100
3.5X + 4Y <- 120
3X + 2Y <- 90
where
X = number of union toy soldiers
Y = number of confederate toy soldiers
If you have a linear programming calculator, then simply plug in the values. If you don't I guess the only way is for you to go through the manual iteration of the matrix (and it can be a pain!!!).
Good luck.
