I went to a "Pioneer" Festival in his honor at his birthplace in Limestone TN this weekend. It was pretty neat.

Autographs Of The Old West
Autographs of the Old West represent a popular and exciting category of collectors. The number of people who avidly seek autographs and memorabilia related to the Old West is huge and the field is growing by leaps and bounds.
Important personalities who played a role in the Old West also had a major influence in the development of America. Pioneers such as Stephen Austin, namesake of Austin Texas, and the Father of Texas, brought 300 families to settle in Texas. These earlier settlers formed the nucleus of the state of Texas. Not too long later, in 1836, legendary pioneer David Crockett participated in the Texas Revolution and the Battle of the Alamo.
