- Obviously the list is personal, but feel free to critique it by comparing it to your own list.
- If influence was a major factor, Ice Cube would obviously be alot higher, but I based the list of a mixture of lyrics, people reached, rhymes and overall content.
- Snoop and Dre didn't make it by a long shot.
- Too Short, E-40 and Mac Dre are all important to the game, but lyrically? Hell naw...
- My apologies to Dj Quik, Crooked I, Evidence and MC Ren (and to a much shorter extent, Knocturnal, Murs, and the D.O.C.).
- Groups? Of course, Hueroglypics, Jurassic 5 and the Pharsyde, but this is single artists...

Born in Palo Alto, California, Crook received his Bachelor of Arts at UCLA (in 1987) and his Juris Doctorate from University of California, Hastings College of Law (in 1991). While practicing as a litigator, Crook taught himself ceramics and gained a following for his unusual work. In 2009 he was admitted into the Pasadena Society of Artists. Crook is known as the only face jug maker working consistently in the art form on the West Coast. He was introduced to the art form by a grandfather from Texas. Crooks jugs almost exclusively depict demonic and contorted faces. Crook also sculpts fanciful creatures with the same demonic qualities as his jugs. Opinions On My Top 20 West Coast MC's?
I based it on rhyming words, substance, and how well they're able to deliver that substance to me personally. So yeah, its a personal list, but I'd like to see how it matches up to yours! Single MC's, not groups (although their work in a group is obviously considered). These artists call the West Coast their home, no matter where they got started or ended up!
