Army Command Post

Was the Holocaust a reality or was it merely made up?
I was a Lt. Col. during WW2 in Army intelligence. I was stationed in Germany during and at the termination of the war. My job was to interrigate German officers and at times soldiers for general information. I one day received orders to move up to the front lines because the American troops had uncovered something that was most unusual as well as horrifying. Upon arrival at the command post I was taken to a camp that contained several thousand emaciated men. I was shown around the camp and saw to my horror ovens where bodies were burned (many still had bodies within the ovens), piles of bones, filthy, smelly barracks, sick and dying men. Nothing to eat. Nothing to drink. This was one of the most famous Concentration camps in Germany. No one in Germany claimed to know anything about "death camps". No one was a Nazi. 6 million Jews were killed by the Nazis and I saw where it happened. Do you want to deny the existence of these camps and the extermination of Jews, Poles, Russians?
OH it was VERY REAL. I have been to Germany over 17 times and been to Buchenwald and Aushwitz. I can still smell the burnt bodies from the crematories. If you listen to the silence in the place you can hear their dispair.
It is people like the new Iranian leader who is so Anti Semetic ( I am not a Jew or Christian, but I beleive in faith) they would like to use Hitlers regime as a way like the Baath party and Hussein did.
Our own CIA taught torture techniqies of the Nazis to Iranians before they were our enemies in the days of the Shah.
Anyone crazy enough to disbeleive needs to see a concentration camp with their own two eyes and nose to know it was real. It was not just Jews that dies, it was Poles, Russians, anyone they felt politcally opposing, even Americans and Britains were at buchenwald.
People like that who spread lies about history to distort it for their use are nothing more than either manipulators or very ignorant.

Afghan National Army Command Post Exercise
I (Soldier) Recieved DUI on army post. Will it go on my civilian driving record?
Received DUI on post. Command trying to settle (punish) me at battalion level. Believe their trying to help me out. Will this offense affect my civilian driving/criminal record? 1st offense in military.5yrs in.Good soldier. Don't know my B.A.C yet. Any input appreciated.
If your command keeps it as an Article 15 issue then it will not be reported to your drivers license's issuing authority, and will not show up on your record as a DUI.
BUT.... DUI is not supposed to be handled as an Article 15. It is a violation of Article 111, which says.....
“Any person subject to this chapter who—
...
(2) operates or is in actual physical control of any vehicle, aircraft, or vessel while drunk or when the alcohol concentration in the person's blood or breath is equal to or exceeds the level prohibited under subsection (b), as shown by chemical analysis, shall be punished as a court-martial may direct."
Note the last phrase.... "as a court-martial may direct". That means that your command does not technically have the authority to deal with DUI under Article 15.
That doesn't mean that your command may not choose to do it anyway - it happens all the time - but your commander, if he does this, is going out on a limb for you, and you owe him BIG TIME.

The two part command Center, Face is used primarily and only at funerals for pallbearers to turn from either direction to face the casket. This is the only time this command as a preparatory and command of execution is used in accordance with the FM.
14-5. FUNERAL WITH CHAPEL SERVICE (FULL MILITARY HONORS)
c. As the conveyance comes into view, the NCOIC commands Escort, ATTENTION; Pallbearers, Center, FACE. He salutes until the conveyance stops in front of the chapel. On the command Center, FACE, the pallbearers face the designated arrival point of the conveyance.
The correct command from a Circle Formation used as a PT or instructional formation is “Left, Face.”
(1) The instructor positions himself in front of the lead soldier in the lead squad and commands Circle formation, FOLLOW ME. The instructor double-times in a circle large enough for the formation and moves to the center of the circle. The members of the lead squad follow at an arms length plus 6 inches (approximately 40 inches total). The squad leaders of the following squads begin double-timing at the correct distance from the last soldier in the preceding squad without command. After the entire formation is in a circle, the instructor comes to the position of attention and commands Quick time, MARCH. The soldiers begin marching normally. The instructor then gives directives to individual soldiers and corrects the distance between them until each member is at approximately double arm interval.
(2) The instructor then commands the formation to Halt using the appropriate preparatory command.
(3) The instructor then commands Left, FACE. All personnel face toward the instructor. The formation is now ready for instruction.
(4) To return the formation to its original configuration, the instructor commands the formation to attention and commands FALL OUT, and then FALL IN. On the command FALL IN, all soldiers return to their original position in formation.
Good to know for your time at PLDC, BNCOC and ANCOC as everyone seems to forget the right commands after graduating either.
