German Afrikakorps

88mm Flak Crews of the Afrikakorps in WWII?
During the Desert campaign of World War II, were all the German 88mm flak crews LUFTWAFFE or were there any HEER (Wehrmacht/German Army) flak crews?
If wiki is an acceptible source:
Under "Luftwaffe formations": The Flakkorps and Flakdivision (anti-aircraft artillery Corps and divisions) which served as the headquarters for controlling smaller flak units attached to Herr formations rather than separate divisions organized for ground combat. However they also served as area formations deployed to protect large important cities and fortified areas.

| | 1/72 Sd.Kfz.222 DAK (Deutsches Afrikakorps) $27.49 Prior to WWII, Germany introduced a wide range of tracked and wheeled armored vehicles to equip its powerful military. One family of wheeled vehicles introduced in 1936 was the Leichter Panzerspähwagen ("Light Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle). These vehicles were based on a Horch 801 heavy car chassis to which an armored body was added. Early in WWII they performed well as a reconnaissance vehicle for panzer divisions in Western Europe, the Balkans and North Africa. Dragon Armor is introducing a further Sd.Kfz.222 model from the Leichter Panzerspähwagen family. The Sd.Kfz.222 is armed with a 2cm KwK.30 cannon and MG34 machine gun in an open-topped turret. A crew of three operated the Sd.Kfz.222. Possessing a superb level of detail, Dragon Armor's 1/72 scale model of the Sd.Kfz.222 is impressive in appearance. Different to previous releases, this model is finished in the sand-colored camouflage of the Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK) that fought in North Africa from February 1941 through to Size: 1:72 Type: Models & Miniatures Color: Multi-Color Color Mapping: Multi-Color |

music of world war 2,the German Afrika Korps Song:《Our Rommel.》
Can anyone tell me about the history of German Field Marshall Rommel and his Afrikakorps?
"Erwin Rommel symbolizes the old Germany before Nazism. The strong, efficient, and brilliant Germany of Bismarck. This could be why revisionism occurs for him, but let's get some things straight:
The many of the military leaders, Rommel included, were not very strong Nazis. The military originally hated Hitler and during the war many of the old leaders saw that he would bring Germany down when he began to ignore them and create plans that made no sense. This makes a lot of sense according to much of the history of Rommel. He saw the insanity happening more and more and couldn't live with it anymore. Rommel was moving quickly (from Poland to France to North Africa) and never saw the camps. This would be a good reason for the assassination attempt. His death was also a symbol of honour where he chose to end his life rather than be partied around by Hitler's "Court".
Furthermore, The Afrika Korps never did ANY war crimes. Rommel called it "a war without hate". He was also very respectful to those he faced, particularly opposing generals. He refused to execute Jewish POWs as per Hitler's orders as well as ignoring Hitler's Commando Order which called for the killing of all commandos saving Lt. Roy Woodridge and Lt. George Lane. Rommel didn't deport Jews from France, though Hitler ordered that as well. Even without seeing the camps, he wrote many letters protesting the abuse against Jews, and refused to use slave labour.
Lastly, he turned into a legend after his death by the Nazis who wanted a symbol of the perfect German soldier and spun the propaganda machine to portray him as such. Therefore, today, his history needs revision to separate Nazi lies from truth."
I just copied and pasted this from my answer to why there is so much praise and revisionism given to Rommel.
