Guard Corps

Do you want most of your defense TAX dollars spent on guarding rich oil Corps that afford to pay Blackwater? ?
Why should we give the OIL Corps tax breaks and use our kids to guard their pipelines? They can afford it and do not pay taxes like I do or you probably do. Much of their money goes to other countries anyway, why should Joe Six-Pack pay for profits for the SAUDIS etc?
Obama was not in the Senate in 2005! Sheesh!
That's why we as a country needs to find an alternative source of energy and that won't happen with our Government in bed with big oil.we have already Payed a deep price with 4,118 Life's of our Service members its time for opec to start pulling there own security

Also in Persian and in some Arab states, certain soldier classes were also called candar. They were especially assigned to guard palaces and the heads of state. In the Great Seljuk Empire, the candar corps consisted of specially trained Turkish and foreign slaves. The head of the candar corps was called Emiri Candar and he was included in the governing body. After the break up of the empire, some members of this corps went to the Turkoman beyliks in Anatolia, Shiraz, Khorasan, and through the Mamluks to Yemen and Maghreb states to take up being palace guards. In Anatolian Seljuks (Sultanate of Rum), candars guarded the palace and the head of state and his headquarters, together with the Hassa soldiers. They were cavalrymen, and they would use swords, bows and carry shields. One of these candars who actually was in the Seljuk court, Demir Yaman Candar, founded his own Anatolian beylik Candaroglu, near Kastamonu, Turkey. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran a brief history - part 1
Should I enlist in the Marine Corps Reserve or Coast Guard Reserve?
I go to NY Maritime college in NYC and I am a junior. I am in the license unlimited 3rd Mate unlimited Merchant Marine officer program and I am graduating in May 2011. I cannot find any part time work anywhere, or anything that appeals to me. When I graduate I am most likely getting my commission in the Coast Guard as an Ensign or 2nd LT. As much as I want to enlist in the Reserves of the Marine Corps and Coast Guard, I don't think it is a good idea in the long run. Does anyone know if you can get your commission and still be a reservist? Or would you have to get discharge papers? Maybe I am over-thinking everything and should just stay on the track I am on. Any advice? Thanks
I am still in school though, how would I go active duty If I am in school it doesn't make sense. Also would it help if I have 340 sea days on ships over 25,000 tonnes?
Yes, you can apply to go to OCS and get a Reserve Commission - but PLEASE keep in mind that you are COMPETING and that it isn't anywhere near a guarantee. As a Reserve Officer, you will NOT be stationed on a Cutter, and your Mate's license will not be used.
To actually use your training, you would have to go Active Duty, but since you aren't a Coast Guard Academy grad, it will be difficult to get a billet on a Cutter.
There is no reason to enlist JUST to get a commission.

Check the record:
“Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, whose command includes the volatile southern rim of Baghdad and districts to the south, said his troops are tracking about 50 members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps in their area ” is not true
Major General Lynch on Iranians in Iraq: We assess that there are 50 or so Iranian and Iraqi operatives working for Iran in our area, about 20 of which who we are actively targeting. . . What I believe in my battlespace is I've got IRGC surrogates, people that have been trained by the IRGC in Iran who've come back in Iraq to conduct acts of violence, and I believe I got some members of the IRGC, some Iranians, who are working in our battlespace. And what they do is they transit the battlespace. They don't come in and they stay, but they're going back and forth. The primary concern, as I say, is the number 50; the good majority of those are IRGC surrogates. They're operatives that have been trained by the IRGC. . . Having said that, I do believe that at any given time, I got up to about 20 Iranians working in our battlespace, you know, either training Iraqis to conduct acts of violence or conducting those acts of violence themselves, and we're working detailed targeting on all those people.
