Name of Indian lady who made a great speech about peace?
I saw a video on the internet of an indian woman giving a speech about peace. It was an inspiring video and when i went to look for it again, I couldn't find it. Can anyone help me? She discussed the balance of power in the world and how borders and flags limit our minds. "A failure of our imagination" is how I think she put it.

Does anyone know how to properly clean a dining room table made of indian hardwood?
The table also has some scratches need some hints to fix them also.
well the best thing to to is use a lightly wet towel, where you can barely feel the water, but you know it is there, then dry it and use wood polishing and for scratches, there is wood stain, but it is hard to do to get the right color

You guys can actually try Indian made cars, they are pretty cheap and also are reliable for long time.
34,000-crore IMFL industry is on high spirit
UB group has grown 14% and Radico Khaitan at 32% for the last five years, compared to industry average of 9%
· THE 'King of good times' may have hogged the limelight till now, as far as the alcohol industry in India is concerned . But Radico Khaitan is coming up in a big way as a player to reckon with in the Rs 34,000-crore IMFL (Indian-made foreign liquor) industry. The company has clocked gross sales and net profit of Rs 324 crore and Rs 13 crore, respectively for the quarter ended June '06, with a net sales growth of 20% YoY. IMFL is the most competitive segment in the alcoholic beverage industry, with an estimated market size of 100 million cases and Rs 34,000 crore in volume and value terms, respectively.
· The UB group is the market leader in this segment, with around 60% share, while Radico Khaitan comes next with around 12% share. However, while the UB group has grown at around 14% for the past five years, including its inorganic expansions, Radico Khaitan has grown at 32% compared to the industry average of 9%. The IMFL market has been growing in double digits (10-12 %) for the past two years, with whiskey accounting for 58% of revenue share, followed by rum (20%), brandy (17%) and white spirits like gin and vodka (5%).
· Despite the high growth rate, the industry has witnessed intense consolidation in the past 10 years, with only two companies being able to create new brand identities. This is due to a large number of entry barriers – Need for separate infrastructure in all states (as all of them have different excise and pricing structures), high interstate tax rates, high investment needs for production and distribution channels and need for brand creation despite media restrictions. All these factors have led to a few big players like UB and Radico consolidating their presence and posting impressive growth rates.
· Abhishek Khaitan, MD, Radico Khaitan, says, “Around 20 million consumers are being added every year in India. The overall market is growing at 10-12 %, with smaller segments like vodka growing exponentially. With favourable demographics and deregulation by state governments, the IMFL industry has enough potential for coexistence with 4-5 big players, which can consolidate and grow comfortably in double digits.” Since the inflection point in 1999, Radico Khaitan has come a long way from once being a supplier to the UB group, to becoming the owner of three millionaire brands today (sales of more than one million cases a year) and having 37 bottling units of its own (two overseas in the UK and Africa). Currently, it has 34 established brands in the market like 8PM, Old Admiral, Contessa and Magic Moments. The company expects a volume growth of 15-20 % for the next three years. Mr Khaitan says, “Within the next three years, we intend to take our volume to 20 million cases from 12 million currently.”
· The company's exports stood at Rs 35 crore for FY06, which is expected to touch Rs 140 crore within the next two years. In the fast-growing vodka segment (40% plus growth), its new launch, 'Magic Moments' , hopes to garner a market share of 15% by FY07. Radico has recently entered into a 50:50 JV with Diageo (the world leader in spirits with brands like Johnie Walker and Smirnoff), which marries Radico's distribution and manufacturing base with Diageo's marketing muscle to tap the fast-growing premium IMFL market to create new brands. The JV will seek to address gap areas in the premium brown spirit segment to start with.
· In the whiskey segment, the regular and economy categories (Rs 100-200 per 750ml bottle) have a combined market share of 45%, with growth rates of 16% and 8%, respectively, with a large number of existing players. However , the premium and deluxe categories (Rs 220-500 per 750ml bottle) which are growing at 17% still don't have many competing brands. The Radico-Diageo alliance will create its own brand in this category. Scotch, premium brandy and premium vodka are other smaller sub-categories growing exponentially, which can be looked at later. Radico will invest Rs 15 crore in the entity and operations are expected to start by March '07. This deal is expected to add further to margins as all the joint offerings will be for high-value products using the same manufacturing and distribution channels.
· Radico has built a war chest of $70 million (mostly through FCCBs) to explore avenues of organic and inorganic growth in both domestic and overseas markets, and for new product launches. On the margin front, the company is focusing on grain-based brands to hedge against fluctuations in the prices of molasses and other sugar-linked commodities. Mr Khaitan says, “The worst is over in terms of commodity pricing and things can only get better in future.” With respect to the retail boom, he said, “Metamorphosis is bound to happen for inclusion of liquor in the overall mall phenomenon , as it is among the luxury items consumers prefer to shop around for.”
· The debt:equity ratio at 2.4 is a little high at the moment, but it is in tune with the industry average. Also, conversion of FCCBs into equity shares will further improve this ratio. RoCE, at 20%, has seen a drop from 25% in the previous year. But average realisations have improved by 15% in FY06. FIIs have also shown confidence in the company, accounting for around 12% stake at present. Going by the current growth estimates , the forward P/E multiples are 21x and 16x for FY07 and FY08, respectively . This isn't cheap, but the stock is definitely worth looking at from a long-term perspective.
