Infantry Lead
I wantt to be an Infantry Officer and lead my men into the field...where should i join?
Which branch/job should i join to achieve this? Army? Navy? Marine Co.?
Army Infantry will give you more combat time these days. Also, you will likely be going to Ranger School after Infantry Officer Basic. Marines have some top NCOs and the platoon NCOs do an excellent job developing officers, but the Army will give you the best Infantry officer training.

In the marines, how do they pick Infantry Officers?
I always wondered, i can never see a butter bar who came straight outta college do lead the real grunts into battle, that and when there Company grade officers aren't they out on the field with them?! for someone who as never saw shooting before...and there the ones going to lead them?
do infantry officer candidates go through a selection process or something to determine you are able to lead marines from the ones who are not capable?
When they take their physicals to join the Marines,
Only the ones with the biggest cohones will be picked to be Marine Infantry!

Well, NexGen…that name lives up to what I'm facing here…a next generation of recon in the Marine Corps. Very different from what it was 8 years ago when I volunteered for the Reconnaissance Indoctrination. They don't even have that anymore! Your GT score isn't high enough for recon, either Division or Force Recon. Division requires a GT score of 105, and Force Recon requires 110. You have your rights to retake the ASVAB if you wish; don't listen to the "used car salesman" (the Recruiters) if they tell you that you cannot…you can retake it!
Intel contract is different, and it will be "halfway-opened contract" (*my own personal quote there), you may select the 0200 field of Intelligence, but they may just as well place you in the 2600 Signal Intelligence instead. Just because the contract says so…in the hidden print….called "what the Corps desires, not what 'you' desire."
Whatever you do as a Poolee, during your poolee functions wouldn't mean a damned thing once you get to Boot Camp, then onto SOI. That is just a insurance policy for those "used car salesmen" to ensure that you pass boot camp so that they get their monthly bonus for achieving quota. Not to be brash, but it is utterly a waste of time, if you ask me….if you wanna make it to the Security Forces (that is if you do not retake ASVAB and score high enough for Recon selection)…send me a message and I'll give you a workout program that will definitely make you capacitate your endurance to its max.
Even if you achieve a 105-110 GT Score…you aren't Recon yet…you must pass their Indoc (or whatever they call it nowadays…MART or something), then exceed the completions of the schools that qualify you to be a 0321 (which is the Basic Recon Course [BRC])…but you have to go to jump school to achieve the parachutist, MOS 0324(Reconnaissance Man, Combatant Diver Qualified)…both Division and Force Recon requires it…however, Force Recon requires Combat Dive and Parachutists, which is the MOS 0326 (Reconnaissance Man, Combatant Diver & Parachutist Qualified)…[used to be MOS 8654...again, more changes in this next generation].
