Italian Folgore

What do you think about modern Italian army?
Please, do not use the same old stereotypes about us Italians and consider that we all are allied into NATO, so we should respect each other ![]()
So, what do u think about these armoured forces and about what they are doing all around the world? We are at the moment the second country after US as number of soldiers in foreign missions and some of our units (Col Moschin, Comsubin, Alpini, Bersaglieri, Lagunari, Folgore...)seem to be great...So, what do u think?
Thank you so much ![]()
That's great, but I thought Italy was not allowed to have a very large army after WW2 and the fall of Mussolini.
But I love Italian women and race cars, Ferrari is my favorite.
Regards.

Italian Folgore paratroopers and Russian VDV paratroopers
What does "Come folgore dal cielo...come nembo di tempesta" mean?
This has something to do with the Italian Paratroopers but I can't find out what it actually means. All my google searches turn up Italian pages -_-
Ale92 says that "Come folgore dal cielo...." means "Like a thunder from the sky" and that`s wrong. Thunder is a sound, but "folgore" is "lightning" it has to do with light.
"Like a lighning from the sky.... like a storm cloud"

Ro — Well obviously you know nothing about the North Africa campaign because the Italian Folgore fought heroically both in North Africa and after the invasion of Italy. There was no tougher regiment. Even Churchill, with all his anti-Italian prejudiced, called them “as fierce as lions”. Churchill called North Africa “Italy’s soft underbelly”; it turned out to be “Italy’s hard gut”, and the Italian campaign was the fiercest fighting on the Western front.
