Who's your favourite pirate of all time?
Fiction or non-fiction, and if the only pirates you know are "Captain Jack Sparrow" and "Davie Jones", PLEASE don't answer (though you can pick one of those two, if they happen to be your favourite).
My personal favourite is Captain "Kidd". Mostly because he didn't even consider himself a pirate, he was just branded a pirate because he was cruel, and unorthadox in his methods. His story is probably the funniest, because it's so pathetic. Easily the worst pirate in history, which is why he's my favourite. Look it up!

Kidd was commisioned to hunt pirates by England and to attack ships flying the French flag (England's enemy at the time.) But, when Kidd's crew started to desert he turned to piracy himself. He was moderately successful as a pirate.
As far who he caused the most trouble for. India was outraged when Kidd captured a ship that belonged to them. They retaliated by throwing representatives of the East India Company in jail. This prompted England to capture Kidd and put him on trial for piracy.
