Kit Diorama
How do I wire a diorama?
I want to start making dioramas and have actual lights for streets, billboards, interior buildings and stuff like that. the first one I would like to do is I have a burning building and has a light kit inside to simulate fire. Then i want to put some street lights that actually light and maybe another electrical lamp or something off the side of the building. I would like to run it off a battery or how ever many it would take and have it all turn on by the flip of a switch. Is there a site or good books that say how I can wire a diorama? Or if you want to explain how then that would be fine.
I would go to a Model-Hobby shop and pick up a few books from Kalmbach Publishing... they have GREAT ones on Diorama construction (that include a section on wiring) and on Model Railroad landscaping and wiring.

Any tips on making a swamp environment diorama?
My son has an upcoming project for school. He must create a swamp environment diorama. Has anyone done this? Do you have photos of the diorama you can share? Know where I can get a kit specifically for a swamp envir? Any information or tips would be helpful. Thanks
Swamp dioramas could be made in various ways... with pics from magazines or drawn pics, using clays (homemade like salt dough or bread clay, or purchased air-dry clays like Creative Paperclay or even Celluclay mixed with water, or polymer clays like Sculpey, Fimo, Premo, etc.), using purchased "grass" or ground covers (from hobby shops, or making your own from dry moss, grass clippings, stones, dirt, etc, on a white-glue base, or small brances for trees, etc), in an open-sided shoe box or just on a sturdy base of some kind, complicated or simple, etc., etc.
