Medieval Moors

does anyone know about the moors in Spain and the likelihood of having moor ancestry from the middle ages?

im ethnically white / caucasian English, born in england of majority french ancestry / decent , but i had one spanish grandparent from ' Cádiz ' Andalusia .

somebody a while ago said i might have some moor ancestry , because i had a spanish grandparent.

i was just interested to know what was the likelyhood of having moor ancestry and how much from as far back as the medieval spain ?

my father is dark blonde and very fare , you wouldn't know he was 1/2 andalusian at all. the same was for my grandmother to, very pale and not like an andalusian at all but more north Spain in appearance .

i was also told a while back that the moors were expelled from medieval Spain .

and would a dna test reveal how much ? if indeed i had any moor ancestry ?

A DNA test would confirm it, but the chances are that you won't have much moorish blood in you. The moors were driven out of spain in the late 1400s, not that many people in Spain today can trace back moorish ancestry. It's possible, but not very likely.
