Can Black mold live in window air conditioners?
I bought an air conditioner from a friend that had black mold growing in her trailer. After she moved from the trailer she moved into another one that caught on fire and burnt down. The air conditioner I bought was also in the fire. I bought it a couple of months after the fire. We took it to the car wash and washed it really good. I took the front and knobs and soaked them in bleach water over night. A few days after using the air conditioner I started getting sick. All of my symptoms were the same as being exposed to black mold. After watching my 11 month grandaughter for a few days, she now has a bad cough. Can Black mold still be in the air conditioner either from the prior trailer or from the fire?
Hello, yes ofcourse its possible. it could also be another breeding environment for toxic mold as well.
