Great Northern War. Battle of Poltava. Part one.
Did leadership of Union commanders have the most significant impact on Northern victory in the Civil war?
What factors allowed the leadership of the Union army to achieve victory in the Civil War?
I don't know if you could say they had a positive effect early in the War. The faults of the Union commanders in the East probably prolonged the War by a couple years. The most significant advantage the North had was its massive advantage in manpower and industrial might.

the south is dumb. the north is metropolitan, better educated, and has a better economic situation. of course they will fight.
