War Continental South

National Football team attacked by rebels in war torn Angola!?
A story is emerging that an African cup of nations bound team has come under rebel fire enroute to the looming African Cup of Nations soccer tournament. I am wondering if CAF carefully assessed the security situation in that conflict riddled country before deciding to ward it the hosting rights? How can a country that has just come out of a massive civil war that dragged for decades be asked to host such a prestigious continental competition?
The authorities should probably think twice and just nalify the competition and move it to a safer place. There are a couple of African countries who can quickly prepare to host the teams, likely South Africa, Egypt and a few other with better resources. What are your opinion soccer fans?
Cabinda is a part of Angola separated by the Congo - like Alaska but on a smaller scale. Angola did go through a devastating civil war but seem to have put it behind themselves and are moving on - except in Cabinda. I wish Afghanistan could make as much progress.
The Togo team travelled through an area known to be unsafe, perhaps there was some sort of break down of communication there but I think Angola should be given a chance. Maybe they should be asked to increase security and vet travel plans.
There are more stable countries but remember 3 people were killed, in the Congo 1000 people die every day. Does the fact that they are famous football players make their lives worth more?

| | Continental Association $63.73 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Continental Association, often known simply as the Association, was a system created by the First Continental Congress in 1774 for implementing a trade boycott with Great Britain. Congress hoped that by imposing economic sanctions, Great Britain would be pressured to redress the grievances of the colonies, and in particular repeal the Intolerable Acts passed by the British Parliament. The Association aimed to alter Britains policies towards the colonies without severing allegiance. The boycott became operative on December 1, 1774. The Association was fairly successful while it lasted. Trade with Great Britain fell sharply, and the British responded with the New England Restraining Act of 1775. The outbreak of the American Revolutionary War effectively superseded the attempt to boycott British goods.
