Duke Britain
Duke Britain
Is the Boston Massacre an hoax, conducted by the evil Revolutionary troops to damage the image of...

His Royal Majesty, King George the Third, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Prince-Elector of Hannover, Duke of Brunswick, and the government of the British Empire?

The 'Massacre' was hardly unprovoked - rebellious settlers were throwing stones at British soldiers. It is also thought that one of them shouted the order to fire to exacerbate tensions, rather than the British officer. Only five people died - hardly a massacre.

So whilst it wasn't a hoax, exactly, it was certainly very different to how it has been portrayed in myth.

Duke of Gloucester

Duke of Gloucester

$92.4

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Duke of Gloucester is a British royal title (after Gloucester), often conferred on one of the sons of the reigning monarch. The first four creations were in the Peerage of England, the next in the Peerage of Great Britain, and the last in the Peerage of the United Kingdom; this current creation carries with it the subsidiary titles of Earl of Ulster and Baron Culloden. The title was first conferred on Thomas of Woodstock, the thirteenth child of King Edward III. The title became extinct at his death, as it did upon the death of the Duke of the second creation, Humphrey of Lancaster, fourth son of King Henry IV. The title was next conferred on Richard Plantagenet, brother to King Edward IV. When Richard himself became King, the dukedom merged into the crown. After Richards death, the title was considered ominous, since the first three such Dukes had all died without issue to inherit their titles. The title was not awarded for over 150 years, the next to receive the dukedom being the son of King Charles I, Henry Stuart, upon whose death the title became officially extinct. Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 144 Publication Date: 2010/07/25 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.01 x 0.33 inches

Duke of Clarence

Duke of Clarence

$81.25

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Duke of Clarence is a title which has been traditionally awarded to junior members of the English and British Royal families. The first three creations were in the Peerage of England, the fourth in the Peerage of Great Britain, and the fifth in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. The title was first granted to Lionel of Antwerp, the third son of King Edward III, in 1362. Since he died without sons, the title became extinct. The title was again created in favour of Thomas of Lancaster, the second son of King Henry IV, in 1412. Upon his death, too, the title became extinct. The last creation in the Peerage of England was for George Plantagenet, brother of King Edward IV, in 1461. The Duke forfeited his title in 1478, after he had been convicted of treason against his brother. He allegedly met his end (at least according to William Shakespeare) drowned in a butt of Malmsey. A fourth creation in England was suggested and planned to take effect; the title of Duke of Clarence was going to be given to Lord Guilford Dudley, husband of Lady Jane Grey, upon her coronation, as she declined to make her husband king consort. The UK's Nazi King Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor: Traitor & Enemy of Britain. (Part 1)

Are there still noble ranks in nowadays England(Britain)?

Are there still duke/duchess, marquis/marquise, earl/countess, viscount/viscountess, baron/baroness in nowadays England(Britain)?

The answer to your question is yes to all of those titles but please don't use "England" and "Britain" as if they mean the same thing. England is one part of Britain along with Scotland and Wales and the nobility, for all its faults, is a British thing not an English one. We have dukes etc throughout the entire country.

I'm actually not sure about the "marquis" title. I thought we did have them because I was aware that the "Marquis of Bute" who was the local lord in an area quite close to where I live, but having looked it up on wikipedia it redirected me to "Marquess of Bute". Maybe it's just a pronounciation issue.
