What about rapping over someone else's song?
I was told by one of my friends that he thinks I have a good voice for rapping and I am making a demo I have one of my songs finished I need to finish the other ones....It's taking me awhile b/c I am a perfectionist and I want this to be perfect.
But he was suggesting that before I put any freestyles and verses on youtube for ppl to hear which is what I was goin to do this weekend, He said I should take that song from Eminem (Like Toy Soldiers) and play the song in the background and then actually rap that song....like me rap the song exactly (his lyrics and all that) I was kinda hesitant b/c I don't know what kinda response that would give me and I don't want to play around with a rapper's song like that ya know? I mean I wouldn't mind doing that but what do you guy's think I should do?

I think you shouldn't do it because Eminem is so good and you don't want to mess up to song or anything. Even if it's good you're still going to get crap from other people saying you ruined the song. So I would say to just stick with your own songs.
