"You! Jefferson! Come here and make haste, my good man," barked Washington. "I've a Charlie Horse that has me seeing stars and stripes it pains so much."
"Can you give me 10 minutes? Ten looooousy little minutes?" groaned Jefferson. He flicked some soot off his shoulder in a very haughty fashion.
"Hey! Britain! Kiss my grits!" yelled Franklin, shaking his derriere towards the Union Jack. From afar, the grumbles of red-coated soldiers could be heard, and the loading of rifle muzzles.
"What on EARTH are they teaching you at William and Mary?!" snapped Washington. "We just stood our ground, let's not incite the British any more than we have to!"
"Just asserting our independence, George good fellow," said Franklin, ducking behind a smouldering wagon. "Your wife Martha is more easy going, she'd get a good laugh out of that. Where is she, anyway?"
"Oh, she's off to Williamsburg on another shopping trip," replied Washington. "Curtains for the Presidential mansion, termite spray for my dentures. She'll be back before nightfall. Unless she runs into Madison's wife. That Dolly's a chatterbox."
Jefferson finally rose to his feet, wary of the distant sound of cannons. He eyed his musket with consternation.
"Problem, Thomas?" mused Franklin.
"I have no idea how to shoot this thing. I'm a diplomat, NOT a soldier."
Franklin and Washington laughed. "Aye, aye! Much so."
"Uhhhh, sir?" interupted a young Colonial soldier, pointing towards the horizon, "How do you spell "SURRENDER"?
"I do not know the meaning of the word," said Washington, ignoring the hand-painted sign the British were brandishing a few hundred yards away.
"So are they TELLING us to surrender, or are they saying that THEY are the ones surrendering?" pondered Hancock.
"Good question," said Washington. "I sure hope they're the ones. I'm beat."

"Those colonists will be sorry, by jove," said General Hendershire, surveying the blue-coated line of soldiers zig-zagging across the cratered landscape. "Ease up on the taxes, and what do you get? Rebellion!"
"Revolution," corrected Franklin from afar.
"Oh blasted Franklin," snapped the General, "DO go home!"
"Go HOME to England? My good man.... I already AM home."
"Ho ho," chuckled a Hessian, "He got you good, he did."
"Quiet you," snapped the British officer, "or I shall have you court martialed for treason!"
"Treason? Surely you jest?!"
"Hey Britain!" resumed Franklin, "Kiss my grits!"
"I don't even like grits," snarled Hendershire, "open fire!"
And so the countryside was ablaze again with cannon fire and the screams of men. By day's end, both sides retreated to the Madison residence to make amends and try Dolly Madison's Zingers and cupcakes.
"And THEN do you know what she said?" said Franklin, in the midst of a compelling narrative, "She says, "I don't want a flag with a big snake on it! Stars and stripes forever!"
"Well, Betsy knows her flags," quipped Benedict Arnold, reaching for a strawberry-coconut zinger, "I myself liked the one with the pirate gorilla."
"You betray yourself too readily," said Washington dismissively.
"Indeed," mused Arnold. "And speaking of betrayal..."

How can prince Harry deserve a medal after one month in afganistan?
when he was so well protected compaired to the months and months that other soldiers are away from family and friends some never seeing their own children being born and he goes out on a jolly to be with his chums o.k. so he drove a couple of tanks and patrolled a few empty streets. both harry and william do not deserve anything even Andrew who flew helicopters in the falklands was protected to a certain extent and we have paid for it since by letting him lol about on golf courses getting paid for doing nothing.
