British Paratroopers Set
Help identifying an older british movie...?
I saw a movie a long time ago, but I only remember a few scenes from it. I know it was a british movie about a young boy, set during WWII and I think it was made in the late 80's/early 90's. I remember a scene with the boys father who was recently back from the war and his family was afraid to eat some jam he brought with him, so the dad opens the jar and start to eat it with a spoon. Also, during one scene an american (I think) paratrooper drops from the sky and they help take care of him. And he and his friends would run around through rubble from buildings. Sound familiar to any?

In the Six Day War (1967) the Paratroopers fought on three fronts. Mordechai (Mota) Gur commanded the unit that liberated the Old City of Jerusalem; troops under the command of Raphael Eitan captured the Gaza Strip and were the first to reach the Suez Canal; and Dani Matt s paratroopers captured the Golan Heights on the last day of the war. In 1976 they were part of the unit that rescued hijacked passengers in Entebbe Uganda in a daring raid on the Entebbe Airport. In recent years they have been involved primarily in counter terror operations within the West Bank. We are grateful to Eitan Senesh and the Manor Family for permission to use these words on the medal. Obverse:. On the medal face are the Paratroopers wings insignia on a red background above them the Brigade s traditional slogan Follow Me . army training for the uk army and concerns i have.?
im currently really wanting to join the british army, im just really blurry on the training i need to do to get myself ready, i was all set to join the paratroopers when i was 16 then i broke my wrist, they then told me to wait a year after that i tasted life and never went in now im 28 and really want to do it its giving me something to go for this is my training schedule
mon,wed,fri
3 sets of 25 push ups, 10 pull ups ,5 0verhand pullups,30 sit ups, 35 squats,20 lunges, i do this through the day at work
and on the eve i will run about 3-5 miles on treadmill at 8 mph, or round the park
tue i train back and bi with weights, thur- chest and tri, sat shoulders and legs
i am going to increase intensity on the runs and add sprints and hill reps as well in time,but im not gonna push myself just yet just gradually increase every 2 week same goes with adding reps to my bodyweight exercises.
im also concerned about my age am i too old and will i get laughed at?
You talk about preparing your body... what about your mind?
The army requires not only bodybuilders… in order to be a good soldier you must be tough in making decisions, and have a sharp mind. Try to control yourself from doing that or that, see if you are able to follow commands, and if you are comfortable with leaving your home for extensive periods of time…
Your age should not be a problem at all if you are used to have noizy and crazy friends…
