Dry Stone Wall
I put sealer on my driveway and stone retaining wall and now the drives color looks uneven-how do I fix it?
I applied an acrylic clearseal 300 product by tamms that has dried uneven on my walks and drive.I called the manufacturer and was told to apply a second coat but it might likely yellow.They said I was sold the wrong product by the supplier for outside use.The uv rating is a "b-c" and they recomend an "a" uv rating.The supplier told me the specs say it is ok for outside.They said they would get back to me after looking into it further.The manufacturers rep said I could use an "a" uv rated product of theirs on top of the clearseal 300 to protect it from yellowing.What is the best way to handle this situation?I feel I am due some compensation/credit from the supplier for selling the wrong product for the applications it was intended.I am also concerned that the finishes won't even out consistantly/evenly.What is the best procedure for handling this finish to get it corrected? How should I handle the supplier in regards to the charges?
I think the best you could possiblyhope for is to get the second sealer for free. Most of the suppliers aren't willing nor can afford to give any more compensation, you may have more look with the rep - The best solution would be sand blast the wrong sealer off and start again - expensive and messy.
There may be a solvent that would cut through the sealer that is down and then apply the new - my 2 cents...
