German Marching Band
Does anyone know the name of a piece of marching band music that has a long piccolo solo? ?
we used to play a certain piece when i was in high school, and i cant remember the name of it. i THINK it was german, and i THINK it was a two word title with one of the words beginning with a G.... but i could be wrong.
nope its not stars and stripes. i thought i had it, 'Hammersmith', but then when i listened to it i was unsure again....
The two most famous picc solos with marching band are of course the Stars and Stripes, and Chimes of Liberty.

im not international. im a US citizen. the 'international student club' is students at my school helping those who are international students
I can only speak to the South Carolina schools, so...
You will have a very difficult time getting into Clemson. You have several strikes against you, including
+ out-of-state residency
+ OK, but unremarkable GPA; entering freshman have a 3.59 average GPA
+ class rank. 97% of entering freshman are in the top 50% of their class, so to be below that is pretty much a deal breaker.
+ SAT scores are below the 25th percentile of entering freshman; the 25th percentile is 1140 (590 math, 550 english). I always tell applicants to try to get to or above the 75th percentile, which is 1320. I believe the "average" SAT score is 1260 this year.
Clemson's primary admissions criteria are, as you might have guessed: SAT scores; GPA and difficulty level of HS courses taken; class rank; and state residency.
Clemson does not consider extracurricular activities as part of its admissions process. It does consider honors classes, but if you're struggling in them that will be an additional strike against you. Your ACT score is at the low end of the middle 50%, but at least it's in that range.
Getting into the University of SC is easier than getting into Clemson, but it's still not a walk in the park. Their average SAT score this year is 1185, so you still have a ways to go. I do not know their admissions policies or criteria like I do clemson's, but they do consider extracurricular activities. Their two most important admissions criteria are HS record and SAT/ACT scores. Their 25th percentile for SAT scores was 1090, so you're still on the very low end, and 25th percentile for ACT was 24. 91% of their entering freshman were in the top half of their class. In summary you will also have a difficult time getting into USC (though not as tough as getting into Clemson).
My best advice would be to take some SAT prep courses and work really hard on getting your SAT score above 1200. I think that's about the only number you can dramatically change to your advantage at this point.
