canada army help!?
hi there, i am applying to be a grenadier guard (reserves)
i wasn;t nervous before but now i lose sleep over passing those exams...anyone who has done them (canada not usa) please help!
details- i am not amazing in math
- i am 18
-i am physically fit, but push ups...oh man

I know a few people in the CGG. Good folks I'll be going over to Afghanistan with in a few weeks. I'm not generally overly fond of Reservists because too many have this attitude that they aren't really soldiers.
Anyhow, don't worry about the CFAT. The math portion is pretty elementary and while you don't have a calculator, you'll have plenty of scrap paper to do the number crunching on. But this being a timed test, don't waste too much time on any single question.
It's based on a grade 10-12 education level, and there is no pass or fail, only a score. The score will determine what trades you can go into. Higher the score, the more options you have. That simple.
Just relax, man. It's not a hard test. Just breathe and focus on taking your time. In timed events, people always rush and have a lot of wasted time at the end. Make use of every minute you have.
Don't lose sleep over it.

Are British Guard Regiments Elite Infantry?
Do the British Army Guard regiments, e.g; Coldstream Guards, Grenadier Guards, Welsh Guards, Scots Guards, take on the roles of Elite infantry?
When I say "Elite infantry" I'm not talking about SAS, Navy SEALs, Delta Force, KSK, etc standards, but better than normal regiments, e.g; Anglian Regiment, Royal Welsh, Irish Rangers, Mercian regiment, etc. (Standard infantry).
Or are guard regiments normal infantry regiments that get to stand outside the palace wearing cool-looking uniform and taking part in impressive marches, etc?
To my knowledge, as I have the Coldstream Guards as one of my choices on my application, they're standard Infantry, but they have their ceremonial role where they guard Buckingham Palace and other locations as well as partake in Trooping of the Colour and other various activities.
