BBQ Birthday help? For my mothers 50th?
I am planning a surprise party, bbq "luau" for my mothers 50th birthday. I am having a bit of trouble planning the food.
So far i am deffinately going to have chicken and beef kabobs that i found GREAT recipes for. I am also going to make twice baked potatoes, ramen noodle salad, regular salad, Appetizers: cheese puff/bites, pizza snacks. I am trying to make alot of finger-ish type foods b/c it is going to be in a very small backyard.
I want it to be great b/c i am inviting ppl from my mothers job as well as my own. I also have an uncle who is coming who cannot eat anything with dairy. Is there anything i can make that would be elegant/fun and has no milk in it? I was thinking about pizzas on the grill w/sauce and vegetables almost like a vegan pizza. Any other ideas would help! Thanks so much ![]()
* i kind of want to keep the luau theme, i am very big on the pin up girl /50's style, so its going to be a bit vintage as well. Hope this helps*

Fruity Pineapple Boats with Creamy Lemon Dip
June 10th, 2007
1 whole pineapple
1 cup honeydew melon, cut into bite-sized chunks
1 cup strawberries, cored and sliced in half
1 package (4 ounces) light cream cheese, softened
1 container marshmallow cream
1 teaspoon lemon juice
To make pineapple boats: Cut the pineapple (including the crown) into quarters. Cut the fruit away from the rind, leaving a half-inch outer layer.
Cut pineapple fruit into bite-sized pieces. Measure out 1 cup pineapple chunks and set aside. Cover and refrigerate remaining pineapple for other recipes.
Meanwhile, in a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, marshmallow cream and lemon juice. Beat with an electric mixer beat until smooth. Spread creamy mixture onto pineapple boats. Top with fruit.

I want to start a Vintage clothing store in Baltimore City?
I want to start a small Vintage clothing store in Baltimore City, Can anyone help with all the info that I would need (where do I get the license from, and is there a place in Baltimore where I can get very low cost 2nd hand clothing, and etc). I hope this is not a lot to ask for...lol
can't help much w/ inventory-a large haul from an estate sale would be your best bet. maybe run ad that you're looking to buy.
the better Business Bureau can help w/ licensing & guide you as to where to apply for loans.

You know, I did the in and out at Laduree (although I hear the tea room is lovely) but I wanted someplace quieter. Aren’t Laduree’s colors marvelous, though?
I think those were mostly '93 models… essentially a 700c hybrid / ATB with 48h wheels, 7 speeds, flat bars, SunTour thumbshifters, derailluers etc… Moderately heavy and not the stiffest frame around because of the double-diamond frame design (i.e., no internal tube) and small diameter tubing. Pretty much on par with a Fisher Gemini and some other ATB tandems of the same era.
Entry level? Perhaps… it depends on your expectations. Again, it's old technology but once cleaned up and serviced, you could probably put 10k miles on the bike without a break down, aside from a flat tire. The stoker compartments are VERY small on these vintage bikes, e.g., ~25″ vs. today's 28'5″, which can become bothersome if you begin to search for longer miles off the bike paths. However, for a Silver Comet – type bike or leisure use, it would be more than adequate. Again, the handling would be a bit off from what current tandems offer in terms of lateral stability, so if your stoker was pre-disposed to moving around a lot, you may find it takes a little more work to hold a razor straight line. Slick tires or nearly slick / inverted tread tires in good shape would be a must.
Hey, $250 for a tandem… it'd be worth a try if it's in descent shape, has all of its parts, etc. Again, just set your expectations and know that the biggest limitation will always be the riders abilities and fitness, bounded by rider comfort. FWIW: We have some very good friends who ride a 50lb+ vintage Fisher Gemini w/26″ wheels who can pretty much hammer all but the really elite riders into the ground… 7 speeds, flat bars and all. Above a certain level of quality, it's not about the bike.
