Arms Fighting Scene

A question for fans of the ROCKY films?
Have you noticed how in the fight scenes in Rocky lll,
neither Rocky or his opponents put their arms up to
block punches? Are they the worst heavyweight
champions you've ever seen or what?
As the Rocky movies progressed, the choreography got worse in the fight scenes, especially in the last one a couple of years ago. However, the message was clear. If you are willing to work and go for your goals, it can be done. Sometimes I feel like I don't want to go after my goals. I watch those movies and Stallone's character inspires me.

Take Pictures with blurred arms?
In the matrix movies when Neo moves his arms around in a fight scene you can see his individual arms but there is a blur in between, i want to get a similar effect with a picture. Now i know that ill need a slow shutter speed right now i have it on 5 seconds and i think f/7, can anyone tell me from experience what settings would be best for a effect like that?
I've done similar shots to this actually. I used a strobe light. I set it to flash every 1/2 second or so. I put the camera to expose for 10 seconds. My son was the model for it. I had him move his arms up a little every two times the strobe flashed. It worked okay.
I could have made the shot better a couple different ways. I used an f/3.5 lens wide open at ISO 100. It would have been better at probably ISO 200 or 400. The plain little strobe light was not nearly bright enough. I'm thinking if you had 2 flashes turned down to 1/2 power or so, it would be better. If I had a 3rd person I'd have had them sit between the camera and the model and manually fire the flashes. The flashes would be way better if they recycle quickly. Keep new batteries on hand. You're going to want to background black if you can help it and aim the flashes to about where the hands are so you don't spill a lot of light onto the subject The model could move after one flash instead of having to hold still for 2. The subject should have a darker shirt on with lighter sleeves for more effect and to keep from drastically overexposing the model.
Be prepared to take a fair amount of shots. A tripod is an absolute must. A patient, steady model is also a must. Its possible but its not going to be easy. Don't look past the possibility of taking multiple shots and integrating them into one in post.
Good Luck.

As long as the US is in IRaq, Us will continue to face international conflicts. Either it be with IRAn, Iraq, Russia, Pakistan, Afganistan, NOrth Korea, and now china decides to tempt the US. We are not that popular anymore as we used to. ..And since the military is over stretched thin, in the middle east were more vulneralbe to threats… just my opinion.
