Why did the American army supply condoms to their soldiers during WW2?
Aren't they suppose to fight for life and death? Or it's meant for something else?
The whole condom was used to keep water out theory is idiotic. All a barrier like that would do would keep moisture in. A rifle is not sealed everywhere except the muzzle. Water can get in the lower reciever as well. If anything, the condom could keep out dust, but WWII Soldiers were disciplined and understood the importance of weapon maintenance, so they would have kept their rifles clean.
The Army leadership understood that Soldiers will be Soldiers and given the opportunity, they would fraternize with local women. The women who were of questionable values had already been fraternizing with German soldiers and were plauged with STDs. So, the ultimate goal for the condoms were to keep Soldiers healthy in order to kill the enemy.

if i am an american citizen can i join the austrailian army after serving in the american army?
You can either move to Australia and become a citizen, then enlist, or you could enlist as a way of gaining your citizenship. There was a guy in my platoon moved here from overseas and used the Army to gain his citizenship, although it can be a pit of a process.....
