Top Army Fighter
Can you be a fighter pilot in the army?
Or do you have to be in the air force, or another branch?
I've heard that you can, but it you have to be in the army for 15 years, true?
Would it be like, I could be doing anything in the army and then switch over to being a fighter pilot (of course with the proper training and everything)?
How possible do you think it would be for me to become a fighter pilot?
I plan on going to college when I get out of high school and then joining the military
I really don't know a lot about the military, I'm trying to look into it more :/
You need to be an officer in the Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps. You could conceivably, join the Army first (as long as you're 27 by the time you apply pilot training for the Navy, 28 for Marines, or 29 for Air Force), but it's not particularly helpful beyond getting general military training. You'll need great academics as well as physical fitness, and it wouldn't hurt to have at least some civilian flight hours if not a license. It's not easy and there's not guarantee.
