What is a good excuse to use when fighting a speeding ticket?
I recently received a speeding ticket for driving 80 mph in a 70 mph speed limit from a highway patrol man. I am definitely going to fight the ticket, but I'm unsure if i need an excuse or if I simply am supposed to plead innocent. I've also heard that if I get an extension on my court date it improves my chances of the officer not showing up. Is this true? & what should I say in court?
Excuses will not get you far, it doesn't take the judge long before he hears them all. You will be expected to provide evidence you were not speeding.
Officers not showing up for court is for the most part a myth. My department pays a minimum of two hours overtime for court, some departments pay four. A speeding trial lasts about 10 minutes, so it is easy money.
An officer can be disciplined for missing court without reason. If he does have a valid reason, it will be rescheduled. In addition, the prosecuting attorney and judge do not appreciate when their time is wasted by an officer not showing up.
Most would agree your best bet is to minimize the damage by accepting responsibility and hoping the judge gives you are reduced fine, or offers you a diversionary program such as traffic school or community service.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol fight with EMT
Why not save the money that it takes to secure/unsecure our borders, and send the border patrol packing?
They are needed to secure our schools, and to fight the terrorists.The leaders of our country have betrayed us, and the solvency of our nation. We may as well open the borders, do away with customs check points, let the trucks cover all states, and then learn to live with bed bugs, lice, TB,and unseen, and unheard of parisites, and pestilence. Any other time in this country, there would be isolation and quarantine, and these leaders would be indicted and tried, for negligence, if nothing else.
When you say this can be done in a ten mile designed limit, you are full of sshit, and it ain't holy. Fool!!
One of the answers suggested that we have bugs in this country, and can't blame others, yes that's true we have bugs, and a lot of them have two legs. We, before our sanitation and health / hygiene levels were raised, we suffered like the third world does. Have all you all know-nots that answer here ever been outside this country? and see some of these things? God bless you missionaries, and peace corps, and military that have. I believe things will get a lot worse, before things begin to get better. You will see these failures in the public trust, being rode out on a rail, as in Lincolns day. The people that matter, have not yet awakened.

A fighting patrol under Major SP Burathoki was under heavy fire from a bunker. Maj Burathoki asked for 2 volunteers to destroy the enemy bunker…Hav Ram Prasad Gurung & Rifelman Sher Bahadur Gurung crept forward with hand grenades and sten guns and destroyed teh enemy & captured a 3 inch mortar.
