Called the samurai (those who serve), these warriors resembled the knights of medieval Europe. Like knights, the samurai fought on horseback, clad in helmet and armor, although a samurai carried a sword and bow and arrow rather than a lance and shield. Like knights samurais lived by a strict warrior code, known in Japan as Bushido. Above all the samurais code was based on loyalty to the master.
The samurai were knights who were so loyal that they were willing to die for their master. Medieval knights were not so loyal and sometimes ran from battle but samurai were loyal that if they were told to win against an army of thousands alone, he would go and fight until his last breath.

What's the title: A girl goes to knight school with a bunch of boys?
She tries to become a knight, and the boys are bothering her, making life hard for her. At one point she finds out the boys gave her a weighted heavier lance, and she trained with it anyways so she'd be stronger. And she gets into a fight with one of the boys, gets called to the headmaster dude, and she offers no explanation, because "An explanation is just an excuse". Any help? It's a preteen novel.
