comments on possible design?
I'm thinking of getting this design custom made for a tattoo:
a dragon breathing fire on a knight in armor, knight is not in good shape - dented armor, burned face, etc, helmet is off and lying on the ground, knight is holding shield up to block the flames. whole scene surrounded by a circle of fire. meanwhile, a horse is galloping towards the fight scene, a broken chain around its ankle.
all the objects in this can be interpreted as symbols.
what do you think, and if i do get it, where should it go?
also, the wreckage of a town in the background
I think it would look the best on your back, because it sounds like a large piece, and your back is a relatively flat canvas to put it on.

Why do people always think a samurai would beat a knight, I can't imagine this happening in anyway?
I mean a knight was covered head to toe in armor, armor that could stop bullets from muskets and any bow. And the only way of killing a knight is by stabbing him with a pointy sword.
But since Samurais techniques and weapons were not designed for people with Shields and metal armor it would be a huge disadvantage.
What i would think would happen is a samurai would strike with a sword and it would get deflected then the knight would just stab them in the side from the opening left from the failed attack.
I don't see how a samurai would win. I mean even if you assume knights are clumsy even though they weren't they trained all the time as well, how would the samurai be able to get passed the shield and sword and wedge the sword between the plates of metal before he would get stabbed?
Because when people think about Samurai wielding Katanas, they think about Jedis with Lightsabers and mystical 'Ki' powers.
People think that Katanas can slice through anything. ANYTHING.
Of course, they are wrong. Horribly wrong. Katanas wouldn't even scratch chainmail, much less full plate armor. And of course, that's assuming that any blows get past the Knight's shield, which I don't think will happen. Japanese military doctrine has no answer for the shield. They never encountered it, and thus they had no way to fight it.
A fight between a Knight and a Samurai would pretty much just be watching the Samurai whack the Knight's shield over and over again, with any blows getting passed the shield bouncing off full plate armor. Eventually, the Knight will get a blow in and finish things.
It's pretty cut and dry. A Knight can certainly hurt a Samurai, while a Samurai can't really do the same to a Knight. Further debate isn't really needed.
And for anyone who feels like comparing this to the performance of Western Armies vs the Mongols, it isn't the same. The fighting would be taking place in Japan (as it's the only way this can really make sense). If the Samurai decide to act like Mongols and avoid direct battle, then the Europeans will simply counter by attacking and besieging the Japanese cities. The Japanese home islands aren't exactly roomy like the Steppes of Asia and Eastern Europe, armies won't have access to much land for maneuver. The Europeans would pin the Japanese in place eventually, either by catching them along the coast, or forcing the issue by attacking cities. In a stand up fight, the Japanese would be obliterated by the Western styles of warfare.
