Am I a bad person for not liking pets?
I love animals. Love the zoo, love to watch them on tv, but I do not like having pets. My husband has a dog, and while I don't mistreat him, we simply co-exist. I may pet him once when I take out the trash or go to the laundry room to iron, but I'm not into him at all. I like to learn about animals and see them. When I visit other people's homes who have pets, I even enjoy being around them, but when it comes to animals being in my home, I feel smothered. I used to love pets, but having 2 kids has made me shy away from any non-human thing that depends on me. Am I abnormal? My husband said that I am. I feel like some people do about kids--they like them as long as they belong to someone else. But for some reason I feel horrible for not having warm and mushy feelings toward the dog when he likes me so much. He's been here for 4 years and I still have no real bond with him...
No you're not a bad person or abnormal at all. Was Dr. Seuss abnormal for hating kids yet continued writings book for them? Most certainly not. It doesn't make you a bad person and a lot of dogs will like people who don't like them, and i don't think they generally don't really care or at least don't mind too much. It doesn't make you a bad person. you just don't want to look after them when they belong in your home, that makes sense. Some people don't like pets some do. Just like some people dislike children and some don't. Everyone's different 
Some may see others as abnormal towards some not liking pets because they have hard time understanding how someone doesn't see the same likeness towards furry companions as they do. Just perception and there's nothing wrong with it. I think what is important is that you can tolerate the dog, as in not going crazy and absolutely fed up with him.

And iron bars and alarm systems.
I,m thinking to star walking with a big cane for the reason to keep those animal away from may way.
