Can reality exist on different planes ; - )?
I just came across this and had an "Ah ha" moment.
As a child, Dr. Neal degrasse Tyson, PHd Astrophysics, wondered how many scientists had become U.S. presidents. He paged through his World Book encyclopedia and discovered: "Attorney, attorney, attorney, business guy, attorney. “I said, 'Why are they all lawyers?'" he recalls. “Lawyers are paid to argue. In that model, there's no appeal to objective truth. This told me why the world is so marked with conflict.
I thank you all so much for playing along with my tongue in cheek foray into the realm. If you noticed my avatar, you know that I fly a lot outside airplanes which makes me prone to what appears a form of madness. This brings us back the crux of the discussion, is truth subjective or objective? Don’t bother as the debate has plagued us for eons and is not likely to meet any conclusive understanding here.
I am sure different people have had similar epiphanies on many flights. Some were probably on Boeings some on Air Bus, some in Cessna's and some even in Pipers. So yes reality can indeed exist on different planes!
You might even ask this in philosophy for even more fun answers.
PS - I think some planes, like ultralights with high accident rates, are probably more conducive to discovering truth than other more conventional aircraft!
